Chelsea reportedly have teenage sensation Jude Bellingham on their transfer radar, who has made his senior England debut during the current international break.
The 17-year-old completed a £25million move (Sky Sports) to Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund in the summer from Birmingham City and is a rising star with massive potential.
According to Eurosport, the Blues have identified him as an alternative midfield target to West Ham’s £70million-rated ace Declan Rice.
It is claimed that there are Chelsea figures who believe it could be wise waiting for Bellingham, who is already earning regular minutes in Germany with Dortmund and is playing in the Champions League this season.
The report adds that Frank Lampard’s side plan to keep tabs on the English teenager and they feel they have the power to attract any player to their project at Stamford Bridge.
Bellingham, 17, has taken a massive leap from Championship football to international football in the space of a few months and it’s most impressive that he’s taking everything in his stride.
He is a powerhouse central midfielder that is already a physical presence at his age, while technically he’s superb with his passing and can drive forward in possession with close control.
Chelsea already have quality central midfield options with the likes of N’Golo Kante, Mateo Kovacic and Jorginho, but it looks like they could be on the search for a long-term option.
Bellingham is certainly an intriguing talent that is already shining on the top stage, so it makes sense to keep an eye on his progress.
