Chelsea prospect Conor Gallagher will reportedly become a West Brom player today.
The Daily Mail reports that newly-promoted Premier League side West Brom are going to complete a deal for the 20-year-old on Thursday.
It is understood that the Blues midfielder has agreed a new contract at Stamford Bridge and is now travelling to the Hawthorns to wrap up his loan move to the Baggies.
The report explains that Slaven Bilic’s side previously tried to sign him last January, but they are now set to win the race for him ahead of other interested suitors Leeds United, Aston Villa, Newcastle Untied and Crystal Palace.
Gallagher’s long-term future appears secure after agreeing a new deal and he’s going to get a first taste of Premier League football, after making real progression last season in the Championship during loans with Charlton Athletic and Swansea City.
The versatile central midfielder is a highly-rated youngsters to come through the Chelsea academy and he’ll now be hoping to make a big impression at the Hawthorns.
It’s likely he’s going to be involved in a relegation scrap this season, but his aim has to be to try break into the West Brom XI and cut it in the top-flight.
He’s a technically gifted player that is composed on the ball in the centre of the park and an aggressive tacker, but can also score goals and make a difference going forward.
