Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek may reportedly try force a move away from Stamford Bridge on loan for the new season.
According to the Times, the 22-year-old will try to depart the Blues on a temporary basis if he is not given much game time at the start of the campaign by new manager Maurizio Sarri.
Chelsea has made it clear they don’t want to sell the England international under any circumstance.
But they know the player is competing for a congested part of the squad and he may want a loan switch.
The report details that Loftus-Cheek could consider a loan to a European club if the season starts slowly for him
This is an option as the European transfer window doesn’t close until 31 August.
Loftus-Cheek has come through the academy and is a Chelsea fan-favourite.
They would love to see him break into the first team on a permanent basis in the upcoming campaign.
The powerhouse impressed out on loan with Crystal Palace last season in the top flight.
He was also a part of the England team that finished fourth at this summer’s World Cup.
However, he faces a real battle to force his way into Sarri’s plans given he’ll be competing against Jorginho, N’Golo Kante, Cesc Fabregas, Ross Barkley and Danny Drinkwater.
