'Submitted soon': Chelsea are about to receive £25m bid for their 20-year-old player, Romano says
Premier League club Southampton are reportedly set to make an offer to try sign Chelsea loanee Armando Broja on a permanent basis.
20-year-old striker Broja is currently enjoying an excellent season-long loan spell at Southampton. In fact, the Saints now want to arrange a deal to keep him at St Mary’s.
According to reliable journalist Fabrizio Romano on Twitter, Southampton will submit a bid “soon” for Broja worth in the region of £25million.
As it stands, the young centre-forward will return to Stamford Bridge next season when his loan expires. However, Ralph Hasenhuttl’s Southampton are pushing to purchase him.
A report this week claims Chelsea could look at sending the Albania international out on another loan next season rather than selling him, though.
Chelsea must knock back £25m deal
For certain, Thomas Tuchel’s Blues should reject all offers for Broja that fall under the £30million mark.
He’s showing all the trademarks of a top striker with the way he’s impressing in the Premier League, so losing him so cheaply makes little sense.
It looks like he’s good enough to compete for a first-team spot at Stamford Bridge, albeit that decision will ultimately be down to manager Tuchel.
He’s scored seven goals in 21 games for Southampton so far. Also, he brings so much of a physical presence in attack with his strength and speed.
Chelsea definitely need to consider bringing in serious competition for Romelu Lukaku in the number nine position, something they can do for free by using Broja next season.
