Chelsea and Tottenham are both in serious need of attacking reinforcements. The Blues are lacking depth, whilst Tottenham have no striker at all now that Harry Kane is out for the season. Sky Sports have reported that Jose Mourinho’s side are in talks with Real Sociedad for Willian Jose. Chelsea should consider making a late bid.
The Brazilian striker was left out of Sociedad’s squad for their latest fixture and a move to England could be on the cards. He is a 6-foot 2-inch striker who is deadly when presented with a chance in the box and would be well suited to the Premier League.

During his time with the Spanish club, Willian Jose has scored 53 goals and provided 13 assists in 130 games. That works out as a direct goal contribution every other game. He would make a real difference to Lampard’s attack.
He is yet to play in England and the opportunity to play Champions League football would certainly appeal to the experienced forward. This season, the former Real Madrid Castilla striker has bagged eight goals in 20 La Liga appearances. Although they are not groundbreaking numbers, he would provide brilliant back-up to Tammy Abraham.

Both strikers are similar in build and style, so there would be no adjustment needed from the rest of the Chelsea side.
The only sticking point could be the £59m release clause (Guardian) in his current contract. That is a huge fee to pay for a striker that is not guaranteed starts and would be a real risk. The Blues may be able to negotiate a more reasonable fee if Willian Jose is keen on a move.
