Charlie Webster took to the stage last night and provided further evidence he belongs at Chelsea.
The teenager lined up for the Under-21s yesterday against Leicester City.
Webster was back in academy action once again, having spent a large chunk of the season training with Graham Potter’s first team.
Potter even invited the 18-year-old to travel with several members of his senior squad to Abu Dhabi, to continue their work whilst the World Cup ensued.

Now returned to home soil, the midfielder has continued his progress under the watchful eye of the primary coach.
Yet, his attentions turned to development matters on Monday evening, as Chelsea attempted to continue their strong league form.
Charlie Webster wows for Chelsea
Mark Robinson’s youthful team had not lost any of their previous nine Premier League 2 outings heading into the meeting with Leicester, their last defeat occurring away to Arsenal in August.
This brilliant period placed the fresh-faced Blues within touching distance of leaders Manchester City, a gap that could be closed to a point with a win over the Foxes.
That distance was indeed narrowed, as Robinson’s group of talented prodigies secured a 2-0 victory.
Their triumph was inspired by Webster, who unleashed a stinging strike from outside the area to double his side’s advantage.

He has now netted five times this season, but none have been struck more sweetly than the effort that sent Leicester packing.
Chelsea are reportedly on the hunt for a new central midfielder; they might just have one ready made on their doorstep.
