Whilst he may not be getting any first-team action at Chelsea, Callum Hudson-Odoi is still getting an opportunity for the England Under-19’s.
And he was named as the Young Lions’ captain for their friendly with Macedonia yesterday.
Hudson-Odoi took full advantage of the responsibility, as he scored as the Under-19’s ran out 6-2 winners.
Also, Chelsea youngster Tariq Lamptey bagged the sixth goal, his first international goal.
Their goals helped the Under-19’s continue their 100% winning start to 2018/19 prior to the start of European Championship qualification next month.
Hudson-Odoi has been on the fringes of Maurizio Sarri’s squad this season, but has yet to play.
After playing in the Community Shield in August, the 17 year-old’s been playing academy football, making the first-team bench just once.
But after poor performances from both Willian and Pedro, Chelsea fans are keen for Hudson-Odoi to get playing time.
Even if that comes in the Europa League, fans don’t want to see Hudson-Odoi’s talent wasted.
So, here’s how Chelsea fans react to two of their young stars excelling for the national side:
