Those working at Chelsea’s academy would have been quite proud on Tuesday after England U19s’ game against Germany.
England lost 3-2 to Germany, but Chelsea had a lot of representatives on the pitch, which is obviously a really good look for the club’s academy.
To be precise, the Young Lions had five Chelsea youngsters feature for them, with four starting for Will Antwi’s side
The above includes 18-year-old Josh Acheampong, who was on the bench for the second leg of the Blues’ Conference League play-off tie versus Servette.

Which Chelsea players started for England U19s against Germany?
Acheampong started in defence, but he was not the only Chelsea youngster to be named in Antwi’s first XI.
Reiss Denny, Kiano Dyer and Harrison Murray-Campbell also started in the defeat to Germany, while Tyrique George came on in the second half.
Ishe Samuels-Smith was an unused substitute, meaning if he came on, England would have used six players from Chelsea.
Five is still an impressive number, though, showing the good work being done at Cobham. Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly is a big fan of the academy it has been claimed.
Enzo Maresca a fan of Josh Acheampong
The Chelsea youngster whom Enzo Maresca seems to be really impressed with is Acheampong.
The Italian took the defender on Chelsea’s pre-season tour this summer and had high praise for him.
“Doing fantastic,” Maresca said when discussing Acheampong back in July. Since then, again, Acheampong was called up to the first team for the Conference League.
He did not feature in the end, but the England youth international is certainly on Maresca’s radar.
Perhaps Acheampong could become a viable option for the new Chelsea manager this season, then, especially with Reece James’ injury problems.
James is yet to play a game in the current campaign because of injury and suspension. Any more problems with him, and Acheampong may very well find a route into the first team.
