One former Chelsea academy player still looks to have an affinity with his old club.
Chelsea have let a lot of their academy products go in recent years, including this summer.
For example, the Blues sold Conor Gallagher to Atletico Madrid, while the summer before the club allowed Mason Mount to join Manchester United.
Henry Lawrence also left Chelsea in 2023, moving to Belgian side Standard Liege on a free transfer.

Henry Lawrence still following Chelsea
Lawrence may have departed Cobham last summer, but the defender still takes a keen interest in his old club.
Speaking to La Derniere Heure, Lawrence said: “It’s not a regret not to have played with the professional core [first team]. I still watch all their matches.”
The right-back also has a lot of time for another right-back, Reece James, saying: “I watched him a lot. Like me, he played in the middle before moving to right back.”
Former AFC Wimbledon manager Mark Robinson has described Lawrence as “excellent” in the past, while the 23-year-old has also impressed Frank Lampard.
“I wanted to know all the players, the names of the ones who were training well and deserved a chance,” Lampard said in a magazine interview shared by Chelsea’s official website. “It’s easy to pluck a Billy Gilmour, but it’s also a case of hearing that, say, Henry Lawrence is training well — then get him over, get him training with us.”
Henry Lawrence will be enjoying Chelsea show
Lawrence must be enjoying watching Chelsea right now like most supporters of the football club.
The Blues have played some really entertaining stuff under Enzo Maresca this season. They have scored 19 goals in the Premier League, which is the second most in the division.
Maresca has a really exciting attack, consisting of Cole Palmer, Nicolas Jackson, Noni Madueke and Jadon Sancho.
Neto actually came in for Sancho in Chelsea’s last game and did not disappoint. The winger was involved in the team’s first goal in their 2-1 win against Newcastle United, setting up Jackson.
Chelsea face Newcastle again in the Carabao Cup and Sancho will be expected to start, with the 24-year-old not able to play against Manchester United on Sunday because of loan rules.
He will sit out of that, while Neto or perhaps even Mykhailo Mudryk come into the side, though the Ukrainian is going to have to perform tonight to be in contention.
