Harvey Vale has posted a message on social media sharing his delight about the fact he was part of the Chelsea squad that beat Southampton last night.
Vale, 18, is a super young talent from the Blues academy that is starting to make a name for himself.
The teenager was part of Thomas Tuchel’s match day squad on Tuesday night during Chelsea’s game in the Carabao Cup. Intriguingly, it’s the first time in his career that he’s been named in the first-team squad for a competitive fixture as he took his place on the bench.
He didn’t get onto the pitch in the cup tie that Chelsea eventually won 4-3 on penalties.
Vale uploaded a post after the Southampton win calling it a “great experience” for himself.
Matter of time before Harvey Vale debut
It seems like only a matter of time before the next big young talent at Chelsea emerges. For regular watchers of the Blues youth teams, they’ll know Vale is a prospect with immense potential.
The creative playmaker can be deployed in a number of different roles, whether that be in a no.10 position or in wide areas.
His wand of a left foot makes him a goal threat, scoring four goals in just seven appearances this season for Chelsea’s Under-23s side in the Premier League 2 division. In addition, he’s someone that makes things happen in the final third with his energy and finesse on the ball.
An introduction to the match day squad this week is a massive step forwards for him. His aim has to be to keep progressing and performing at his current rate because Tuchel has shown he’s willing to give academy stars a chance. A senior debut is surely a matter of when not if.
Chelsea fans backing their English talent
A selection of Blues supporters on social media are predicting a big future for Vale after his first-team call-up. They are convinced he’s now on the path to becoming a future senior player.
He can take encouragement from so many faces in the current first-team squad that started in the academy.
