Chelsea’s Under-21s side recorded a comfortable win on Tuesday evening against Anderlecht, and one highly-rated youngster earned huge praise from the fanbase on social media.
Chelsea’s U21s thrashed Anderlecht’s U21s yesterday by a 4-0 scoreline in the Premier League International Cup match. The Blues scored through Jimmy-Jay Morgan, Tyrique George, Zain Silcott-Duberry and Samuel Rak-Sakyi.
We’ve seen over the years that the Chelsea academy has developed so many future stars. For instance, first teamers Reece James and Levi Colwill both came through the club’s youth system.
Journalist Simon Phillips reported via Substack last month that Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly loves the academy system, so we hope to see many more success stories from Cobham moving forward.

Chelsea fans amazed by Kiano Dyer
A selection of Chelsea supporters on social media were left raving about youngster Kiano Dyer after his performance for them in midweek.
The 17-year-old central midfielder started and caught the eye versus Anderlecht on Tuesday night. His brilliant cross assisted his side’s opening goal before coming off at half time.
Here are many Blues fans on X waxing lyrical about Dyer…
@Hassan241 wrote: “Kiano dyer is ridiculously good.”
@JFinancier posted: “This Kiano Dyer boy has the potential to be special for sure. He starts the move initially from his own half then runs up field and demands the ball in the final third to put in a fantastic cross for Morgan. Scenes.”
@FelixJohnston_ said: “Kiano Dyer, sensational. Receives excellently deep in his half, brilliant feint & drop of the shoulder, really strong pass, before sprinting all the way to the other box & producing a quality chipped cross. Affects the game in all phases. Top player.”
@WenzyChelsFifa claimed: “Kiano Dyer is some player!!!”
@CFC_R0m insisted: “Kiano will for sure make it here.”
Who is Kiano Dyer?
We’re equally excited about the potential and talent of Chelsea’s midfield prodigy Dyer. Hopefully, it’s only a matter of time before he’s given his first taste of senior football.
Dyer, 17, is emerging as one of the key players for the Blues’ U21s team recently.
The deep-lying defensive midfielder joined Chelsea from West Brom at the end of his Under-14 season and has worked his way up the ladder.
Like so many youngsters in academy football, he looks extremely confident with the ball at his feet. In fact, his assist this week against Anderlecht actually came from him in the build up receiving possession deep in his own half and beating a press with a neat turn.
It’s previously been claimed by The Athletic that Dyer is a Chelsea youngster with a chance of playing in the Conference League this season. Let’s wait and see if he’s in Thursday’s matchday squad against Gent after being withdrawn at half time yesterday.
