Chelsea fans think they’ve found a Cobham gem after U21 display, one claimed he’s a ‘Jackson regen’

Chelsea have produced plenty of exciting talents over the years at Cobham, and it now looks as if their next one could be on the way.

Enzo Maresca has been very open to giving younger players a chance at Chelsea since he took over as manager, which was evident with the subs that got on against Barrow.

The likes of Josh Acheampong, Renato Veiga, Cesare Casadei, Tyrique George and Marc Guiu all received minutes.

Simon Johnson even claimed that Casadei looked huge when he saw him against Barrow, so perhaps he’s been working hard behind-the-scenes.

However, it seems as if some Chelsea fans are rather excited about one particular teenager.

Shumaira Mheuka’s story at Chelsea

Shumaira Mheuka is only 16 years of age, but he has already played for the Chelsea U21s, making his debut against Tottenham Hotspur in Premier League 2.

The youngster scored ten goals and provided two assists in 17 appearances at youth level last season.

He also recently played for the Chelsea Under-21 side against Barrow.

The Chelsea boss could do with having another striker in his squad to support Nicolas Jackson, but it’s obviously far too early to be chucking him into the first-team at this stage.

Here’s what Mheuka had to say recently about his recent experiences at Chelsea.

“It’s been an amazing couple of weeks. It’s been super busy! I’ve been away with England, but now I’m back at Cobham, feeling good, and ready to return to league action.

“As a 16-year-old stepping up to the Under-21s squad, it was a proud moment, and it can be tough at times. But I feel like I’ve handled the situation well and embraced every opportunity that’s come my way.

“Getting a taste of Under-21s football has been great and has definitely pushed my performance even further.”
