Reports have claimed that Chelsea youngster Dion Rankine is set to sign a new contract with the club.
According to The Athletic, the 20-year-old is about to put pen to paper over a deal which will last until 2025.
Rankine has been with Chelsea since 2016, but is unique in the fact that he has not been loaned out in the seven years he has been with the club.

His current deal expires at the end of the campaign, and his lack of opportunity in the first team setup could’ve pointed towards an exit from the club.
This is despite being called up on multiple occasions to be a part of first team training under manager Graham Potter.
The Athletic have claimed that any rumours of a move away can for now be put to bed, stating he is set to sign a new deal with the Blues.
Rankine to sign new contract
Playing as both a winger and wing-back this season in the Premier League 2, he has played every minute of the 15 games they have played so far this campaign.
He has been praised by opposition managers in the past for his ‘lightning pace’ when featuring for the youth sides.

He will only need to look at the dramatic rise of Lewis Hall to first team starter to see the route to Stamford Bridge which was once extremely unclear.
The teenager has recently been ousting big-money signing Marc Cucurella for a role in the team, despite the left-back position not being the one he is most comfortable in.
Fellow young star Omari Hutchinson also has a handful of first team showings under his belt now, with him perhaps one of those who would benefit from a loan move away for the remainder of the season.
