Ross Barkley has been linked with a move to West Ham on loan for the remainder of the season (The Mirror). It remains to be seen whether he will make a move away for Stamford Bridge, but if he does, some young players will benefit. Here are three midfielders that would benefit from Barkley’s exit:
Mason Mount

Mason Mount has already been a regular feature in the Chelsea side this season. He has made 22 league appearances but Barkley’s departure would secure his spot in the team moving forward.
The two players offer similar things and although Mount has enjoyed a better campaign, Barkley’s experience can bring something slightly different. If Barkley does leave Stamford Bridge, the 21-year-old has a clear path to be an important part of this Chelsea side for the foreseeable future.
Conor Gallagher

Conor Gallagher is arguably Chelsea’s most talked-about loan star. After an impressive first half of the season on loan at Charlton, the 19-year-old was recalled by the Blues and sent back out on loan to Swansea for the rest of the campaign.
Lampard wanted Gallagher at a top Championship side and sees him as a midfield option next season. Barkley’s departure would make it easier for the exciting talent to break into the squad.
Faustino Anjorin

Anjorin is the youngest player on this list at just 18-years-old. In eight Premier League 2 games, the young midfielder has scored twice and provided four assists. He is one of the club’s hottest young prospects and has a greater chance of making it if Barkley moves on.
A loan move could be on the cards for Anjorin next season. However, if he continues to impress for the U-23’s, a step up to the senior side is possible.
