There’s no doubt that Nicolas Jackson has been one of the biggest talking points at Chelsea in the first half of the season.

Nicolas Jackson, who’s adapting to life during his first year in English football, has a respectable return of eight goals from 23 Blues appearances so far.

The reality is that the 22-year-old striker has missed so many great chances to score more, though. It means there’s already a reputation around him when it comes to his inconsistent finishing.

He may be pleased to hear that he’s worth over double what Chelsea paid for him back in the summer.

Chelsea paid Spanish club Villarreal £32milion (Daily Mail) last June to sign Jackson.

In a study published by CIES Football Observatory this week, Jackson is currently valued at €84.9million (£73m).

His value is more than the likes Bayer Munich’s Leroy Sane, Manchester City’s Ruben Dias and Liverpool’s Trent Alexader-Arnold.

Meanwhile, Chelsea teammates Moises Caicedo and Levi Colwill also have smaller valuations.

Nicolas Jackson valuation

It feels like a player’s valuation is always going to shoot up when they’re making an impact in the Premier League.

Jackson’s still very raw around the edges and under constant pressure from the Chelsea fanbase, but 2023 was a big stepping stone in his career.

Speaking via The Evening Standard recently, Blues head coach Mauricio Pochettino defended Jackson from any criticism by claiming he’s still a “very good prospect” that deserves more time.

It’s obvious to our eyes this season that Jackson looks better playing just off a central striker. Hopefully, he gets more opportunities in that role moving forward.

The Senegal international now has a pause from club football while he participates in the Africa Cup of Nations, but we’re excited about what he can do in the second half of the season. If he can push towards 15 goals, he can be content with a strong first season at a new club.
