Despite not being everyone’s cup of tea, Kai Havertz will leave a hole in the Chelsea squad if he exits this summer.

Kai Havertz, who was Chelsea’s joint-top scorer last season with nine goals, is strongly linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge in this current transfer window.

The Daily Mail claimed on Tuesday that Arsenal have now made a bid worth £60million to sign Havertz.

So, how will the Blues replace the Germany international if he’s sold this summer?

We think incoming Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino now has the new and improved version of Havertz at his disposal.

In our view, Christopher Nkunku is Chelsea’s answer to the potential Havertz void.

The Blues confirmed the worst kept secret today by announcing on their official website that they’ve signed Christopher Nkunku from RB Leipzig.

The 25-year-old Frenchman has penned a six-year deal which officially begins on 1 July, so the excitement can now build towards what he can bring to the Premier League in Chelsea colours.

Havertz has been a very useful player in the Chelsea squad during recent years, which is why filling his gap is important.

He may not have quite lived up to everyone’s potential. However, he scored some big goals for the club, started most games, and been versatile enough to play numerous attacking roles.

Thankfully, Nkunku is joining the Blues squad next season as an individual that can be a threat as a No 9, No 10 or as a winger. We think it’s actually an upgrade on Havertz, too!

Nkunku has the kind of quality in front of goal that Chelsea need from a secondary striker, scoring 23 goals and making nine assists in 36 appearances last season for Leipzig.

Of course, there’s no guarantee that the speedster will be able to score and create at the same rate in English football. We’re a lot more confident, though.

Havertz’s time at Stamford Bridge may have come to a natural conclusion, but we’re backing Nkunku to bring some much-needed attacking power when he’s unleashed on the Premier League.
