Chelsea attacker Izzy Brown has had a loan spell to forget at Leeds

Izzy Brown has been with Chelsea since 2013 and had a number of loan spells away from Stamford Bridge, but perhaps none quite as poor as the one this season.

The 22-year-old linked up with Leeds United in the Championship and has been unfortunate to miss the majority of the campaign.

But since his return to fitness in the last couple of months he’s been snubbed by manager Marcelo Bielsa and was once again not included in the squad on Saturday.

Brown has been condemned to mainly games with the Leeds Under-23s side and has played just nine senior minutes in a Championship game with QPR.

The English attacker was a regular on the bench during February and March in the first team, but clearly doesn’t have the trust of Bielsa.

He’s been unable to force his way into contention despite a number of injuries at Elland Road and he’s now been missing from the last two match day squad, as players return from injury for the promotion chasers.

With Chelsea potentially facing a transfer ban, there could be a real opportunity for some of the club’s loan stars to come into the senior picture and someone like Mason Mount at Derby County may top the thinking.

But Brown can’t get a game for Leeds in the Championship and it’s hard to see him ever making the breakthrough with the Blues.
