Gonzalo Higuain scored his first goals in a Chelsea shirt on Saturday – and many of the club’s supporters on Twitter raved about his performance in the win over Huddersfield Town.

The centre-forward was on the scoresheet twice in a comprehensive 5-0 victory at Stamford Bridge, which means the Blues are back in the top four in the Premier League table.

Eden Hazard (two) and David Luiz were on the scoresheet, but the fixture is likely to be remembered for the striker’s contribution.

Higuain made his Blues debut in the FA Cup against Sheffield Wednesday recently following his January arrival on loan, while he also featured in the embarassing 4-0 defeat away to Bournemouth in midweek in the league.

The 31-year-old showed for the first time against Huddersfield how deadly he can be in front of goal and why he’s been such a prolific goalscorer in Europe in recent years.

His first Chelsea goal came after he made a lovely run into the box that was found by an N’Golo Kante flick and he fired into the roof of the net.

The Argentinian also scored in the second-half from range with an exceptional curling shot that was also set-up by teammate Kante on the edge of the box.
