Chelsea fans impressed by Christian Pulisic’s performance against Tottenham

Chelsea’s January signing Christian Pulisic featured for Borussia Dortmund against Tottenham in the Champions League – and many of the Blues fans were impressed with his performance.

The Blues forked out £58million (BBC) to sign the 20-year-old on loan last month, but he was loaned back out to Dortmund for the remainder of the season.

Chelsea got a chance to examine him on Wednesday night in the last 16 of the Champions League at Wembley.

Bundesliga giants Dortmund suffered a 3-0 away defeat to Spurs in the first leg of their knockout tie, as Heung-Min Son, Jan Vertonghen and Fernando Llorente netted goals for the English team.

Pulisic was included in the starting XI for Dortmund and it was just his second start of 2019.

The USA international is a left-winger renowned for his pace and trickery, something he particularly demonstrated in the first-half when his side were on top.

He couldn’t quite replicate the form in the second period and could be regretting a shot he saw saved by goalkeeper Hugo Lloris inside the penalty area.

A selection of Chelsea fans saw the positives from their new signing, who will make his move to Stamford Bridge in the summer.

Here are some of the Chelsea fans on Pulisic’s European display:

Graduated from Staffordshire University in 2016, he now writes exclusively for The Chelsea Chronicle covering news, analysis and match coverage. He enjoys the dream position of writing about his boyhood club, which seems to be involved in more drama every single day than an episode of The Bill. Aside from his love for Chelsea, he supports and follows the England cricket team. He also fancies himself as the Sunday League version of Michael Essien.
