Chelsea fans impressed by Mason Mount against Borussia Monchengladbach

Chelsea drew 2-2 with German side Borussia Monchengladbach in the final game of pre-season – and some of the club’s supporters picked out Mason Mount for praise following his display.

The attacking midfielder completed the entire 90 minutes in the friendly fixture and certainly appears to have worked his way into senior contention during the summer.

He spent last season out on loan with Derby County working under Frank Lampard, who has now become the Blues head coach and is clearly a big fan of him.

Mount looks like getting a first-team crack for the first time this season and all eyes will be on if he is involved for the club’s first Premier League game against Manchester United.

Chelsea were 2-0 down at half-time after goals from Alassane Plea and Jonas Hofmann, with the side looking a little sluggish in the first-half.

But Lampard’s team were a lot more lively in the second period, with Tammy Abraham and then Ross Barkley both converting penalties to earn a draw.

Barkley looks like the main competitor for Mount for the number 10 role and the pair have both impressed in pre-season.

A selection of Blues supporters were thrilled with the 20-year-old latest display and are expecting big things from him.
