Tammy Abraham completed 90 minutes for England’s Under-21s side on Monday night against Croatia – and some Chelsea fans hailed their attacker for his international performance.

The Blues striker started for the Young Lions in their last match of the Under-21 European Championships, as they bow out of the group stages without a victory.

England lost their opening two group matches to exit the tournament, while they were involved in a 3-3 draw with Croatia.

Abraham lead the line on Monday and was unable to get on the scoresheet, but was a constant threat and showed some real glimpses of individual quality with the ball at his feet.

He scored earlier in tournament off the bench against Romania and is fresh off the back of 26 goals across all competitions last season during a loan spell with Aston Villa.

The 21-year-old was a goal machine for Villa and helped them earn promotion through the Championship play-off final.

With a transfer ban looming over the Blues, the club may need some of their loan stars to step up at Stamford Bridge.

Abraham has shown potential during loans with Bristol City, Swansea City and Villa, so maybe he is ready for a serious senior opportunity.

A selection of Blues fans were certainly impressed by the 6ft 5in centre-forward following his latest display.
