Chelsea fans rave about ‘immense’ N’Golo Kante after Malmo win

Chelsea cruised to a 3-0 home win over Swedish club Malmo on Thursday night – and many fans were blown away by the performance of N’Golo Kante.

The Blues ended up beating Malmo 5-1 on aggregate after a comfortable win at Stamford Bridge and they are now in the last-16 of the Europa League.

Olivier Giroud, Ross Barkley and Callum Hudson-Odoi were on the scoresheet for Chelsea, as a number of fringe players got the chance to impress ahead of the Carabao Cup final with Manchester City on Sunday.

Maurizio Sarri’s team will find out on Friday who they have drawn in the next stage of the Europa League and it represents a great opportunity to qualify for the Champions League next year.

Kante was one of the star names to retain his spot in the starting XI and he impressed with his 76 minutes on the pitch.

The 27-year-old central midfielder is a regular topic for discussion due to the fact many feel Sarri is playing him out of position in a box-to-box role.

But he proved his attacking qualities against Malmo, as he made a rapid run forward with the ball that eventually led to Giroud’s opening goal.

French World Cup winner Kante is arguably the most consistent performer at the club and they are going to need him at his best against Manchester City.

Here are some of the Chelsea fans raving about Kante:

Dom is a Chelsea supporter who has worked in online publishing for more than six years. Graduated from Staffordshire University in 2016, he now writes exclusively for The Chelsea Chronicle covering news, analysis and match coverage. He enjoys the dream position of writing about his boyhood club, which seems to be involved in more drama every single day than an episode of The Bill. Aside from his love for Chelsea, he supports and follows the England cricket team. He also fancies himself as the Sunday League version of Michael Essien.
