Chelsea fans tear into ‘awful’ Jorginho after Arsenal loss

Chelsea weren’t at the races in a 2-0 defeat to Arsenal on Saturday and many of the club’s fans took their anger out on Jorginho on Twitter following his display.

The Blues were once again made to pay for a lack of creativity in the final third, as they suffered a loss at the Emirates Stadium in the Premier League.

Maurizio Sarri’s team were undone by first-half goals from Alexandre Lacazette and Laurent Koscielny, while they were unable to provide a clinical touch themselves.

Chelsea remain fourth in the league table, but are now just three points ahead of Arsenal and Manchester United as the race for a Champions League spot hots up.

Jorginho retained his usual spot in the starting XI in the defensive midfield role, but he found it difficult due to the fact he was closely monitored by Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsey.

The 27-year-old has been man-marked on numerous occasions this season and Chelsea have struggled when their pass master isn’t allowed space on the ball.

A selection of Blues fans on social media were raging with the Italy internatonal after his influence against Arsenal and some even suggested he should be dropped.

His role in the team this season has seen N’Golo Kante switch to a more unconventional box-to-box midfield role, something that has made him half the player he is.
