Chelsea fans tear into ‘ordinary’ Ross Barkley after Nottingham Forest win
Ross Barkley completed 90 minutes in the win over Nottingham Forest on Saturday – and some Chelsea fans on Twitter destroyed him for the quality of his performance.
The Blues secured safe passage from the third round of the FA Cup after a 2-0 victory over Championship opposition Forest.
Alvaro Morata was the hero courtesy of his two goals in the second-half, but teenage sensation proved his quality by assisting both after trickery in wide areas.
Maurizio Sarri’s side managed to make rotations to his side and attention will now turn to Tottenham in the Carabao Cup semi-final first leg on Tuesday.
It was a professional display from Chelsea to win in the cup, but a selection of fans were still seething with Barkley for his contribution.
Barkley is in stiff competition for a spot in the permanent XI and supporters feel he missed his chance to impress against Forest.
The 25-year-old started as part of a midfield three and has had numerous opportunities in Sarri’s team this season.
Despite improving slightly in the second-half, it was another game where the Chelsea ace was unable to get on the scoresheet or create too much.
Here are some Chelsea fans criticising Barkley for his performance:
Barkley looks terrible and sluggish

Barkley has the IQ of a 13 year old.

Barkley looking very ordinary against a poor team. Not good enough

Barkley is absolutely nonexistent. 4-2-3 formation

Barkley can’t even make a proper 5yard pass ffs

Ross Barkley just irritates me now. Because:
We all know how much better and how much capable he is.
He is technically very good and has a mean shot and yet, he is way too quiet.
Barkley is an attacking midfielder; Be more adventurous and daring, Push to attack & shoot more.

At what point do we admit that it’s time to move on from the Ross Barkley experiment?
