Ruben Loftus-Cheek has wished former Chelsea teammate Eden Hazard good luck on social media following his exit from Stamford Bridge.
The Blues confirmed on Friday night that they have reached an agreement with Real Madrid and the 28-year-old has moved to the Spanish capital.
He leaves West London after a glorious seven-year spell, where he won six major trophies with the club and won a PFA Player of the Year award.
The Belgian attacker made 352 appearances for Chelsea, scoring 110 goals and supplying 92 assists.
Chelsea midfielder Loftus-Cheek has wished Hazard luck ahead of his move to Madrid, where he will have huge pressure on him at the Bernabeu to succeed.
“Good luck my bro. It has been a pleasure playing in the same team with you,” Loftus-Cheek wrote on his personal Twitter account.
A selection of Chelsea fans have responded to Loftus-Cheek’s tweet and urged him to take over from Hazard as the club’s talisman.
Hazard was a skilful left-winger that tormented defences, while Loftus-Cheek is a central midfielder.
But the 23-year-old has a brilliant physical frame and has proven he can dribble past defenders, while he was beginning to show his quality in Maurizio Sarri’s team before injuries hit.
The England international scored 10 goals in 40 Chelsea games this season and has so much potential to become a key player at the Bridge.
Here are some Chelsea fans replying to Loftus-Cheek:
