With a possible transfer ban looming over Chelsea, the club’s loan players could become key at Stamford Bridge  over the next year and manager Maurizio Sarri may need to bolster his squad with a few of them.

Sarri should already have defender Fikayo Tomori on his radar following his impressive performances during his season-long loan at Derby County in the Championship this campaign.

But the Italian boss should now be buzzing following the centre-back’s display for England’s Under-21s side on Thursday night.

Tomori was named man of the match in the 1-1 draw against Poland in a friendly and he looks a Rolls-Royce defender destined for the top.

The 21-year-old has a turn of pace that’s uncanny for a centre-back and some of his recovering tackles bailed his team out of trouble.

He’s been working under Frank Lampard at Derby this season and his efforts in an England shirt suggest he’s making giant improvements.

Chelsea have yet another potential talent on their books in Tomori and bringing him in as a fourth centre-back option at Stamford Bridge next year could be a masterstroke from Sarri.

Tomori is a product of the club’s academy that has benefited from regular senior football and Blues fans are always keen to see youngsters come through the ranks into the first team.
