But the report explains that Brighton may find it hard to resist an offer of £25million and have a massive headache about the player’s future, as the plan had been to leave him at Leeds for the entire season on loan.
White may be completely inexperienced at the top level and is yet to make his Premier League debut, but he’s got all the skills needed to be a future star.
The English enforcer is a physical presence at the back that has bossed Championship defences all season and he’s a crucial factor in Leeds conceding just 13 goals in 22 league games.
He’s played every single league minute for Leeds and is earning rave reviews after almost every performance.
Chelsea have seen that players can make an instant impact from the Championship to the Premier League, with Tammy Abraham, Fikayo Tomori and Mason Mount all proving that this season.
White may not be a household name yet, but he’s a ball-playing centre-back with the world at his feet and it could make sense to try snap him up in January before anyone else comes calling.
