Eidur Gudjohnsen has raved about the quality of Chelsea prodigy Callum Hudson-Odoi and believes he’s yet to let the team down when he’s featured.
The 18-year-old academy graduate has made a real first-team breakthrough this campaign at Stamford Bridge and is slowly becoming a key player.
He’s started the last two consecutive Premier League games to underline his development and manager Maurizio Sarri is beginning to show his faith.
The left-winger already has two senior international caps for England and is regarded as one of the most exciting teenagers in world football.
Ex-Chelsea striker Gudjohnsen has explained he’s liked everything he’s seen from Hudson-Odoi so far and wants to see him continue getting more minutes under his belt.
“I think every chance he’s been given he’s shown that he has got the qualities, tremendous qualities. You do always feel with Odoi on the pitch Chelsea look a better team,” Gudjohnsen told talkSPORT.
“He’s young and has got time, but he’s shown he is ready. We would love to see a talent like that on the pitch even more.”
After months of asking, it seems like many Chelsea fans may finally have their wish over Hudson-Odoi.
The attacker now looks to have forced himself into the starting XI of the preferred team and that will be highlighted if he starts away to Liverpool on Sunday.
He’s showing he is ready for senior football with his confidence in possession and he’s also making the difference in the final third.
Chelsea now have another serious threat going forward aside from Eden Hazard and the pair are quite something when they are both in full flow.
