Of course, Conor Gallagher is the name on the lips of every Chelsea supporter when you talk about the best performing loaned out player this season.

Box-to-box midfielder Gallagher, 21, looks destined for a spot in the Blues first team next season due to his stunning form across London at Crystal Palace. The England international is tailor-made for Thomas Tuchel’s squad and his loan at Selhurst Park is going exactly to plan.

However, there are a string of individuals scattered all over that are also impressing.

The Chelsea Chronicle has picked out the club’s best performing loaned out player this season, albeit the obvious answer in Gallagher is omitted.

Centre-back Levi Colwill, who’s learning his trade in the Championship with Coventry, was a close contender. But, he misses out to someone making an impact in the Premier League.

RONALDO NEEDS TO STOP WHINING.

Chelsea must love what they’re seeing from Broja

Armando Broja is the Chelsea-owned individual that’s closest to Gallagher in terms of impressing away from Stamford Bridge.

The 20-year-old striker is playing his football in the Premier League this campaign with Southampton, which is why he edges ahead of some other loan stars in the Championship.

In fairness, he’s not had it all go his own way. The centre-forward has shown a great attitude and work rate to win over Saints manager Ralph Hasenhuttl.

He’s only started in eight of his 15 appearances this season, but looks like one of their most dangerous attackers whenever he’s on the pitch.

The Albania international has six Southampton goals to his name so far, including a couple in the Premier League this month.

It looks like he’s making it impossible for Hasenhuttl to leave him out of the XI and the way he’s started to perform now in the top division must grab the attention of the Chelsea hierarchy.

The young striker has a serious physical presence, similar to Diego Costa, and looks a calm finisher. Also, Joe Cole has previously described him as an “outstanding” talent on the books at Stamford Bridge.

If Chelsea want another frontman in their group for next year, Broja is someone who’s got the potential to fill that given the way he’s developing at a league rival.
