Chelsea know they will not see Callum Hudson-Odoi kick a ball again this season after he underwent surgery on a ruptured Achilles tendon.

The 18-year-old attacker was beginning to make a big impression in the first team and was gaining regular minutes under Maurizio Sarri.

But with the England international is now sidelined, which leaves the right flank up for grabs.

Chelsea have five games left this season, but that will become six if they edge past Eintracht Frankfurt over two legs in the Europa League semi-finals.

Meanwhile, the Blues have three Premier League games to try maintain their precarious position in the top four.

Senior pair Pedro and Willian appear to be in a straight fight to make the starting line up, with the likelihood that they will be rotated.

Talisman Eden Hazard is the obvious threat on the left that has been in inspired form his campaign and Olivier Giroud looks the best fit at striker right now.

Willian, 30, has made quite the impact this season even with his inconsistency.

The Brazilian speed machine has eight goals and 14 assists across all competitions to highlight his danger.

Meanwhile, 31-year-old Pedro has 11 goals and four assists across all competitions to prove his worth in the final third.

Neither should be long-term solutions at Stamford Bridge and the arrival of Christian Pulisic next season should see to that, but as for the rest of the season Chelsea may be better off starting with Willian in the XI.
