Maurizio Sarri has to play Chelsea prodigy Ethan Ampadu v Forest
Most Chelsea fans are fairly pleased with Maurizio Sarri’s start to life as manager, with the club inside the top four of the Premier League and also in the Carabao Cup semi-finals.
The Blues also have the Europa League knockout rounds ahead of them and enter the FA Cup on Saturday afternoon at home to Nottingham Forest.
After a hectic festive schedule and with a league cup semi-final just days away, Sarri surely has to make wholesale changes against Forest.
One player that it would be foolish to leave out is Chelsea prodigy Ethan Ampadu, who has all the makings to become a key first teamer at Stamford Bridge in the future.
The 18-year-old is a versatile ace that looks composed at centre-back or as a defensive midfielder, but his chances so far this season have been limited.
He’s made just two senior appearances and Chelsea fans are desperate to see more of the all-action Wales international.
Ampadu surely has to be included in the starting XI against Championship opposition and the club needs to show him their is light at the end of the tunnel.
He’s a teenager that is on the fringes of the Chelsea squad, but someone of his talent surely won’t want to wait around forever.
There is definitely room for an emerging centre-back to break into the picture and Ampadu deserves the chance more frequently to prove it can be him.
