Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri has offered some encouraging comments in his pre-match press conference ahead of the game with Brighton on Wednesday.
The Blues host Brighton at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League and once again the manager’s team selection will be scrutinised, as his side were fortunate to edge past Cardiff 2-1 at the weekend.
The Italian boss has spoken about the importance of Callum Hudson-Odoi, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Andreas Christensen.
Chelsea fans should be pleased to hear Sarri’s comments that the team will progress as they do as individuals.
That certainly suggests they could be the spine of the team moving forward and it’s an extra bonus that all three are graduates from the club’s academy.
“We have a lot of young players who can improve a lot in the future: Callum [Hudson-Odoi], Ruben [Loftus-Cheek], [Andreas] Christensen. If they are able to improve we will be able to improve as a team,” Sarri said, as quoted by the official website.
But everyone’s patience seems to be running thin with Sarri and it’s about time he used the highly-rated trio on a regular basis.
Hudson-Odoi’s situaiton is well documented following his senior England call-up and the explosive attacker deserves his chance in the Chelsea XI now.
Meanwhile, midfielder Loftus-Cheek came off the bench to score the winner against Cardiff and the club need to start making the most of a phenomenal talent.
Defender Christensen can also count himself unlucky to play just 19 senior games this season and the centre-back needs opportunities to force his way into the best XI.
