Poor discipline: Two players Chelsea reportedly want to sign this summer both got sent off this weekend

There are various means a player can take to force a move out of a club.

A very simple method would be to simply refuse to train or play.

He could badmouth the manager, fans or fellow teammates.

An off-pitch incident might give the chain of command no choice but to rip apart his contract.

Receiving a red card probably doesn’t rank very highly on the list.

However, those fate-worshiping Chelsea supporters may disagree entirely following two separate dismissals on the weekend.

Seeing red

Despite being separated by a couple of hundred miles, Jules Kounde and Aurelien Tchouameni both lived through the same storyline on Sunday.

Kounde’s Sevilla drew 1-1 with Espanyol, whilst Tchouameni’s Monaco earned the same result against Bordeaux.

But we are not here to talk about the shared points in Spain or France.

The major headline from the matches was the talented pair’s respective and rather controversial sending off.

Tchouameni had to take an early bath after the referee awarded the Monaco midfielder a second yellow card for a strong tackle on a Bordeaux player.

VAR checked the challenge and deemed it worthy of another booking.

Upon watching the reply, the France international was extremely hard done by, especially as his first caution was equally soft.

Meanwhile, Kounde saw red instantly after colliding with Espanyol’s Javi Puado.

Colliding is too strong; a minor coming together seems more appropriate.

As the Sevilla defender tried to escape the close attention of Puado, he seemingly threw back an arm into the midriff of his opponent.

Although this contact probably hurt very little, Puado certainly made the most of this interaction by hitting the deck as if he’d taken a bullet from a watching sniper.

Out came the red and in went Kounde to the dressing room.

A daring escape plan

Upon watching these separate incidents, some Chelsea followers formulated a theory about the French duo.

Getting sent off surely means they’re trying to leave their current destinations and edge closer to Stamford Bridge?

It is no secret that the Blues have identified Kounde and Tchouameni as transfers they would be keen to secure over the summer.

The compatriots are reportedly eager to join the Champions League holders, although there are definitely better ways to go about it than leaving your team a man down.

But if that’s the way they want to do it, we are not complaining!
