Chelsea fans are still reeling following the injury blow to academy graduate Callum Hudson-Odoi, who was forced off injured against Burnley on Monday night.
The Blues attacker is now sidelined with a ruptured Achilles and it comes just after a serious breakthrough into Maurizio Sarri’s first team.

According to the Daily Mail, the 18-year-old is hopeful to return to fitness within six months, even though the injury problem can sometimes take up to nine months to heal.
The report details that the injury setback will not impact his contract situation at Stamford Bridge, with his current deal due to expire in 2020.

It is understood that the senior England international will still not rush into a new deal amid potential summer interest from German clubs Bayern Munich, RB Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund.
Chelsea are confident that they can tie Hudson-Odoi down to a new deal worth as much as £100,000-a-week.
Hudson-Odoi was beginning to play a key role for Chelsea, but he’s got the full support of the fans to make a quick recovery and he should have an opportunity when he’s back.

It’s a blow that the left-winger is yet to commit his future and hopefully his injury can be a blessing in disguise to deter some of the interested parties in him.
A six-month layout would of course be much better than nine and to have him back before the end of 2019 would be good news.
Sarri needs to continue without him in the club’s pursuit of a top four finish, while they also face Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League semi-finals.
