Some Chelsea supporters want to see Eden Hazard handed the captaincy by Maurizio Sarri.

The Belgian has long been linked with a move to Real Madrid, and the transfer window for European clubs is still open.

Some have been fearful that the Blues talisman could still make a move to Spain this summer; but Sarri insisted in his Friday press conference he’s ‘sure’ he’ll stay.

Given the early closure of the window for English clubs, it is no surprise to see Sarri take such stance.

Selling a player of Hazard’s quality now would make zero sense since there is no chance to sign a replacement.

There’s every chance that the Belgian forward could move on next summer, but for now it’s a real coup that he’ll be staying to play under Sarri.

There is hope that the attack-minded Italian tactician will be the man to allow Hazard to flourish.

The 27-year-old is now into his seventh season at Stamford Bridge.

The superstar will surely be hoping to help Chelsea get back into the Champions League next season.

The Blues finished fifth in the league last term and will participate in the Europa League in 2018/19.

Fans now want Sarri to give Hazard a reason to stay

Hazard remains Chelsea talisman, and Sarri will be glad that the winger will not be following Thibaut Courtois to the Bernabeu.

The fans were also pleased to hear Sarri’s comments, and some believe he should now be given the captaincy to increase his chances of staying:
