Chelsea cruised to a 4-0 win over PAOK in the Europa League group stages on Thursday night – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter went wild about Cesc Fabregas for his performance.

The Blues had already secured a place in the knockout rounds of the European competition and made sure of top spot with a routine win, which always looked on the cards when Yevhen Khacheridi was shown a straight red card in the seventh minute.

Olivier Giroud scored two brilliant first-half goals with his favoured left foot, the second a volley which he smashed in after a perfectly weighted through ball from Fabregas.

Callum Hudson-Odoi and Alvaro Mora then scored in the second period for the hosts, which capped off a professional display at Stamford Bridge by the fringe players.

Chelsea managed to bounce back from their disappointing defeat at Tottenham with a strong European display and now turn their attention to Sunday against Fulham.

A selection of Chelsea fans on social media singled out Fabregas for his individual display and believe he was one of the outstanding players on show.

The 31-year-old central midfielder dictated the game from a deep-lying position and reminded everyone of why he’s been a serial winner in his career.

He is currently stuck behind Jorginho in the pecking order, but has turned in some impressive displays in Europe.
