Chelsea had to come from 1-0 behind last night to beat Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.
Palace took the lead in the first half after an incredible strike from Jefferson Lerma.
However, Chelsea managed to equalise after the restart thanks to Conor Gallagher before the midfielder scored again to make it 2-1. Enzo Fernandez then killed the game with a goal of his own deep into stoppage time. That comeback means Mauricio Pochettino‘s men have now earned 11 points from losing positions this season, something they failed to do last term.
With Chelsea having only managed to earn eight points from losing positions in the previous campaign, the above can be seen as progress.
But the only kind of progress that is probably going to keep Pochettino in a job is climbing up the Premier League table. Right now, Chelsea are 10th in the standings, which is simply not good enough.

Chelsea have obviously not been great this season, but you cannot criticise their effort and determination.
They are at least trying to fight for the club and their manager, rather than down tools. The team did not give up against Palace and were rewarded for it.
Chelsea are putting everything into the cup competitions as well. They recently made it into the fifth round of the FA Cup after beating Aston Villa in a fourth round replay and have a Carabao Cup final against Liverpool to look forward to.
Rather, this season, they have probably just lacked a bit of quality at times, rather than commitment and effort. That precise finish or right ball in the final third has just not been there in certain games.
Maybe a couple of additions in the summer could help them with that, with Napoli’s Victor Osimhen still being linked with a move to Stamford Bridge.
