Chelsea’s busy fixture schedule means they face six games in the next 17 days before Christmas, which is surely going to be a major test of their squad depth.

The Blues kick off that run by travelling to Wolverhampton Wanderers on Wednesday night, while Premier League games with Manchester City, Brighton and Leicester City are just around the corner too.

Maurizio Sarri’s side also face MOL Vidi in the Europa League group stages and Bournemouth in the Carabao Cup quarter-final.

So will Chelsea supporters get to watch rarely-seen player Ethan Ampadu in the first team?

Ampadu is a highly-rated young talent that can play centre-back or in midfield and has had to be patient so far this season waiting for his chances.

The 18-year-old has had just one brief cameo in the Europa League group stages with the senior side and is yet to be involved in the Premier League under Sarri.

But the Wales international is a no-nonsense enforcer that has impressed when representing his country at senior level and many feel he is ready for senior action.

Ampadu did get a taste of the first team with seven appearances for ex-manager Antonio Conte and is now trying to make a name for himself under Sarri.

He is certainly good enough to make an impact at Stamford Bridge and may well be in luck with opportunities in the cup fixtures if rotations are made.
