AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli expects a struggle against Chelsea as he could be without nine players for Wednesday’s Champions League clash.
Like Chelsea, Milan managed to secure a win in their league match, a 3-1 victory against Empoli, this weekend.
The reigning Serie A champions, however, paid a big price for the win.
Three of their players; Davide Calabria, Alexis Saelemaekers, and Simon Kjaer, picked up injuries in the match,
This extends the list of injuries at Milan with nine players potentially out of the Chelsea game (via Sky Italia).
Pioli remains confident in his team, although he admitted that, after watching Chelsea’s 2-1 win over Crystal Palace, he expects a tough challenge.

AC Milan’s Pioli expects struggle vs Chelsea
“Injuries can happen in a demanding season,” the Milan boss told Sky Italia. on Saturday.
“But I am lucky to have many players, all available and with the right attitude.
“Now let’s recover all the energy we can because today I saw Chelsea, and we’ll have to struggle.”
Chelsea are in a much better situation but do not have a clean bill of health either.
Edouard Mendy, N’Golo Kante, and Marc Cucurella were absent at Selhurst Park on Saturday.
The Blues will also be under big pressure to win on Wednesday after picking up just one point from their first two matches and now sit bottom of Group E.
Milan, on the other hand, are leading the group with four points.
