Jamie O’Hara has slammed the performance of Marc Cucurella for Chelsea against Real Madrid tonight.

He took to Twitter to criticise the Spaniard for his part in Ben Chilwell’s red card at the Bernabeu tonight.

The Blues were soundly beaten 2-0 by the defending champions of Europe in the first leg of the quarter-finals.

In the third meeting in as many years between the two sides, the Spanish side were comfortably on top for the majority of the tie.

Chelsea made things a lot easier for their opponents when Chilwell was sent off for a professional foul on Rodrygo in the second half.

Madrid added a second after the red card, although the Blues dug in to ensure that they weren’t completely out of the tie when it comes back to Stamford Bridge next week.

Chelsea will be looking to Cucurella to fill the left-back role when the second leg arrives, after Chilwell’s red card rules him out of the game.

Cucurella slammed

O’Hara may not be a big fan of the Spain international featuring though, with him extremely critical of his performance off the bench.

He said: “Cucurella is a disgrace absolutely killed Chelsea.”

Chelsea will be hopeful that Kalidou Koulibaly’s injury is not serious enough to rule him out of the second leg next week.

The Senegal international looked close to his best again against a dangerous Madrid attack, however was forced off early in the second half, seeing Cucurella emerge.

With the Spain man almost certainly having to play at left-back next week, it could be a massive chance for Trevoh Chalobah to impress if he is required at Stamford Bridge.

He came off the bench and helped the effort to hold the fort in the last 30 tonight, and has often impressed in the past despite limited minutes.
