Frank Lampard was really impressed by Chelsea’s Raheem Sterling after his goals against Nottingham Forest.
The Blues had to settle for a single point in Saturday’s 2-2 draw at home to Forest, with Taiwo Awoniyi scoring a brace for the visitors.
However, Raheem Sterling scored twice himself to give Chelsea a draw in the Premier League.
The 28-year-old Blues winger netted his first after finding some good space in the penalty box. Afterwards, his second was an eye-catching finish that he stroked into the far corner.
He’s now Chelsea’s joint-top scorer this season with nine goals across all competitions.

Chelsea’s caretaker manager Lampard was highly complimentary of Sterling in today’s post-match comments:
“His second was a brilliant goal, and the first one was just from being a winger that ends up around the penalty spot. It’s an important position to take, and not be out wide. Raheem has done that his whole career,” Lampard said, as quoted by the club’s The 5th Stand app.
“We have to understand it’s not just about Raheem doing it, it’s just about attacking players being in those areas to do that. At the moment we don’t have that. We have some developing players, some who want the ball into feet when we need to be going in behind and arriving in the box, so there are a lot of things to work on.
“But not to take away from Raheem’s two goals, the second one was brilliant, and that’s what you want from your big players at the top end of the pitch.”

BBC pundit Martin Keown hailed Sterling as “really clever” after his Chelsea goals on the weekend.
The former Manchester City star will be disappointed with how this 2022/23 season has gone during his first year at Chelsea. He’s always been a goalscorer during his career, though.
With the Blues still lacking a No 9, it’s so vital that their wide players are chipping in with goals.
