Chelsea fans buzzing with Kurt Zouma performance against Watford

Chelsea returned to winning ways on Saturday night in the 3-0 victory at home to Watford – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter picked out defender Kurt Zouma for his impressive display.

The Blues produced a great display in a fairly one-sided contest, as they regained fourth spot in the Premier League with five games remaining in the league season.

Olivier Giroud’s neat left-footed finish into the bottom corner opened the scoring in the 28th minute, while in-form Willian converted a penalty just before half-time to stretch the advantage.

Ross Barkley also added a third in the closing stages of the match with a rifled left-footed finish into the top corner.

Frank Lampard’s side had temporarily been overtaken in the league standings by Manchester United earlier in the day, but they responded in perfect fashion at Stamford Bridge to remain in pole position for the Champions League spots.

Manager Lampard opted to make four changes to the XI that were beaten last time out against West Ham, as Zouma, Reece James, Mason Mount and Olivier Giroud all came into the side.

A selection of Chelsea supporters on social media believe that Zouma had a major impact on his return and feel he needs to be a nailed-on starter.

The 25-year-old centre-back gave Watford’s frontman Troy Deeney very little to work with in a great individual battle between the pair and he appeared to give the Blues an aerial advantage too in both boxes.

Here are some Chelsea fans raving about Zouma:
