The Chelsea Supporters’ Trust has expressed their disappointment over the club’s reported stance regarding plans for a European Super League.

As reported by Sky Sports, Chelsea are among the six English teams involved in plans for the potential new competition, as well as Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool.

Aside from these Premier League elites, several other European giants such as Real Madrid, Barcelona and Juventus have also reportedly agreed to take part.

None of these clubs have made any official statement so far, but there have been rumours about a possible imminent announcement in coming days.

The reports have not been received well by some Chelsea fans, including The Chelsea Supporters’ Trust who has released a statement on Sunday.

“The Chelsea Supporters’ Trust is appalled that Chelsea FC are among the rumoured to have signed up for this alternative competition and hope that the reports are untrue,” the statement from the fan organisation reads.

“This proposal demonstrates the greed within football and as supporters, we are tired of the beautiful game being abused.

“Enough is enough.”

Not only the supporters’ trust but some Chelsea fans on social media have also spoken against the club’s reported decision to join the European Super League.

To make it even worse, Chelsea could be at risk of being banned from the Champions League if, as reported, they decided to take part in the new league.
