Chelsea teenager joins first-team training ahead of Manchester United clash

Young Chelsea midfielder Leo Castledine joined the senior squad’s training session on Thursday as Graham Potter begins preparation for Saturday’s clash with Manchester United.

The Blues have now shifted their attention to this weekend’s big match against Manchester United at Stamford Bridge.

Those who were involved in Wednesday’s stalemate against Brentford, except for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang who only featured in the last 10 minutes, spent the day in the gym for recovery sessions.

Four players; Trevoh Chalobah, Kai Havertz, Christian Pulisic, and Mateo Kovacic, in particular, also spent some time playing basketball in the swimming pool.

Armando Broja even got the chance to impress Raheem Sterling with his vertical jump.

For the rest, it was business as usual, however.

Hakim Ziyech, who was an unused sub in midweek, and Ben Chilwell, who was left out of the squad, were among those trained with the ball.

To make up the numbers, a couple of academy players, including Leo Castledine and Silko Thomas, took part in the training session.

Denis Zakaria, who is on a season-long loan from Juventus, was also involved as he is still waiting for an opportunity to make his debut for Chelsea.
