Chelsea’s board are desperate for Kai Havertz to be a big success at Stamford Bridge, according to reports.
Journalist Simon Phillips has explained to GiveMeSport that the Blues ownership have spotted something they really like in the 23-year-old player.
It is understood that Chelsea’s hierarchy want to see the best from the attacker with them.
“[Graham] Potter has continued to back Kai Havertz, continued to pick him, even in his poor form, and Havertz has appreciated that. The hierarchy, the Chelsea board, they’ve always seen something in Havertz and they’ve been desperate to see that come out,” Phillips told GiveMeSport.

Havertz is enjoying a great purple patch where he’s been impressing in recent games.
The German forward has scored in victories against Leicester City and Borussia Dortmund last week, which takes his tally up to eight goals in 35 appearances so far this season.
It’s obvious that Graham Potter has big faith in him, with Chelsea’s head coach sticking with him in the starting XI every week.
He should be boosted by speculation that the board are firmly behind him, too.
Havertz was signed under the previous ownership for £71million back in 2020 from Bayer Leverkusen, but he’s looking to be a big part of the new era.

Havertz recently explained that he’s enjoying his role within Chelsea’s 3-4-3 system, which is definitely beginning to show.
He’s definitely contributing as the team’s leading goalscorer so far this season.
However, someone with his individual quality should be pushing to do a lot more.
It would be great for him to sign off before the international break with another goal in Saturday’s Premier League fixture against Everton.
