Journalist Nizaar Kinsella has claimed that Raheem Sterling was one of a few players who fell to the ground after Chelsea’s defeat today.

He took to Twitter to state that his disappointment was not difficult to see after the Blues fell to a 1-0 loss to Nottingham Forest at Stamford Bridge.

There was plenty of expectation on Sterling’s shoulders after his brilliant performance last time out against Luton Town.

However, it was not to be again as he cut a frustrated figure as Chelsea headed towards their second defeat of the season.

Anthony Elanga’s second half goal separated the sides, with the mood at an all-time low as the Blues head into the international break.

Sterling fell to ground at full-time

While the defeat has been a tough one to take for supporters, it seems as if it has been a similar story for the players.

Kinsella has claimed that Sterling was amongst a bunch of Chelsea players who collapsed to the ground after the full-time whistle was blown.

He said: “Sterling, Madueke, Maatsen and Jackson all fell to the ground on the final whistle such was their disappointment.

“Huge cheers from the away end, boos from some home fans, probably for the ref, who both sets of supporters had problems with.”

There is no choice now but to look towards the return of domestic football after the international break, when the Blues will take on Bournemouth on the South Coast.
