‘For almost an hour’: Journalist spots what Boehly and Eghbali did after Chelsea’s defeat to Brighton

Chelsea co-controlling owners Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali spent some time in the player dressing room after Saturday’s 2-1 defeat to Brighton.

It was Chelsea’s third consecutive defeat under caretaker manager Frank Lampard and the team’s performance has arguably gotten worse since the appointment.

As crazy as it sounds, Lampard, who effectively signed a two-month contract, could be at risk of losing his temporary position, too.

With this new ownership in charge, you never really know.

After establishing a new sporting department last January, Boehly and Eghbali remain very hands-on with their approach.

As journalist Manuel Sanchez highlighted, the pair made this very clear after the Brighton loss.

“Todd Boehly, on his way to the Chelsea dressing room to see the squad after Lampard’s three straight defeats,” Sanchez wrote on Twitter.

“Behdad Eghbali is already inside.”

The journalist later added that Boehly and Eghbali, alongside fellow Chelsea co-owner Hansjorg Wyss spent quite some time inside the dressing room.

“They have been inside for almost an hour,” he explained.

“Boehly, Wyss and Eghbali leave together.”

On a positive note, this shows that they care about the team or, more specifically, their investment.

The result itself does not really impact Chelsea’s position in the Premier League table, as they remain 11th, but this is far from ideal ahead of Real Madrid’s visit on Tuesday.
