Frank Lampard has urged the Chelsea supporters to stick with the team for the final seven games of the season.
Some will feel Chelsea’s campaign effectively ended on Tuesday night after losing to Real Madrid.
The Blues were dumped out of the Champions League after a 4-0 aggregate defeat to Madrid in the quarter-finals, which means they have just seven Premier League games left to focus on.
Unfortunately, Frank Lampard’s side sit 11th in the league table and are staring at mid-table boredom. They do need one more point to break the magic 40-point barrier, though.

Lampard was amazed by the Chelsea support inside Stamford Bridge during this week’s loss against Real Madrid. Incidentally, Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois noted the influence of the Blues crowd in the Champions League tie.
Chelsea’s caretaker boss is now asking the Blues fans to stick with the team from now until the summer.
Lampard said, as quoted by the club’s official YouTube account: “The fans were brilliant. Thanks very much to them. I never tell fans what to do, but stick with us for the seven games because the seven games mean a lot to me, and they have to mean a lot to the players. I know the fans expect that, and that’s what we will do.”

We can’t blame any fan for writing off the season and looking ahead to next year.
However, Lampard will play an important role in trying to motivate this squad of players for the next few weeks to stay professional and working hard.
There should be a lot of individual pride that has been damaged by this season’s results. Let’s hope some see these games as a chance to play for their futures, whether that be here or away from Stamford Bridge.
As for the Chelsea supporters, we’re pretty certain they will continue to pile into the Bridge and cheer on the team.
Some positive news about who the next permanent manager will be can help creative a buzz around the club. Hint, hint.
