Gary Neville gave his thoughts on the latest decision involving Chelsea duo Mason Mount and Ben Chilwell.
It was confirmed today that Mount and Chilwell would have to self-isolate for six days, after coming into contact with covid positive Billy Gilmour last Friday.
The Blues trio all interacted following England’s clash with Scotland.
Thankfully, Mount and Chilwell’s recent tests came back negative, whilst Gilmour seems in good condition.
But it will be a massive blow for both countries, who have their final group games to play tonight.
In response to the news, Neville left a very short but strong reaction on Twitter, explaining his feelings towards the decision.
Neville’s disgruntlement probably comes from the fact none of the Scotland camp, other than Gilmour, have been forced to isolate.
Nor has anybody from Gareth Southgate’s squad, except from the Chelsea boys.
Mount is a particularly big loss for England, having started both of their previous games.
Chilwell’s exclusion is a little less damaging, considering he is yet to feature in the tournament.
Perhaps the most influential impact is that on Scotland.
Gilmour was the star of the show against the Three Lions and could have played a massive part at home to Croatia this evening.
