Chelsea manager Graham Potter suggests his squad currently does not have the “quality and attributes” to compete for the Premier League title.

The Blues suffered their second consecutive defeat in the Premier League after Sunday’s 1-0 loss to Arsenal at Stamford Bridge.

To put it bluntly, the scoreline flatters Potter’s team who were simply toothless and outplayed by the visitors.

Chelsea boss Potter admitted that his team deserved to lose, as he opened up about the lack of quality in his squad to challenge for the title.

“To get to where you want to get to, you have to see who’s with you,” the manager told Chelsea TV after the game.

“[See] who’s able to take the responsibility, who’s got the necessary quality and attributes to help the team to get to where we want to get to, which is competing at the top of the league.

“We’re not there at the moment, but that’s the process, that’s the challenge and the work.”

Potter has yet to have any transfer window to work with at Chelsea, and based on his comment, it seems that he is not fully satisfied with the players he currently has at his disposal.

In fairness, Chelsea also have an extensive injury list, including key players such as Reece James, Wesley Fofana, and N’Golo Kante, which has affected the team’s performance.

Still, despite the injuries, collecting two points from a possible 12 in the last four league matches is still very poor with the remaining players Chelsea still have.
